About the Pack
Pack 4 is sponsored by Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church located on Winter Street in Milford. Pack 4 has been part of Milford’s scouting community for the past 33 years.
- Currently, Pack 4 enjoys a membership of 41 Cub Scouts.
- Pack 4 is made up of Dens. Each boy and his parent-partner become part of a Den and as the boys’ experience grows, they advance within their Den structure.
- Starting as a Tiger, each scout works to attain the rank of Bobcat. In successive years come the Wolf, Bear, and WEBELOS ranks. All Dens meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, as determined by the families within that den, and then come together for fun as a Pack at our monthly Pack Meetings.
- Overnight Adventures - Each year, the Pack participates in Overnight Adventures for the Cub Scouts and their families. Recent trip locations have included: the EcoTarium, McCoy Staduim, Battleship Cove, West Hill Dam and Nobscot Scout Reservation.
- Community Services & Activities - Scouts also participate in community activities and service projects. Recent activities include the Veterans’ and Memorial Day Parades. Recent service projects include the Scouting for Food food drive, Memorial Day Cemetery Flagging and the fall leaf clean-up at the Saint Mary of the Assumption Cemetery.
Parental and Family Participation
Parents are always invited to attend Pack meetings and activities. From time to time we may ask parents to assist with driving and other activities. Many of our parents become adult leaders with the Pack. At least one parent or adult guardian is required to attend each overnight adventure with their attending scout.

Dues and Fees
Registration of all scouts and the re-charter of Pack 4 occur annually in February. At that time of year, Pack 4 collects a $50.00 fee per scout. This fee covers BSA youth membership in the amount of $15.00; a Boy's Life Magazine subscription in the amount of $12.00; and an insurance premium required by Knox Trail Council in the amount of $1.00 (a total of $28.00 per scout per year). The remaining $22.00 per scout is deposited into the Pack 4 treasury to cover expenses that are incurred during the course of the year for the benefit of the Pack, to include, awards, materials used during pack meetings and similar items. This amount also is used to defray the cost of special activities, such as bowling and camping.
New scouts, both Tigers and those entering other dens, also pay an initial registration of $20.00 when they register with the Pack during the month of September. This amount approximates the pro-rated registration for the five month period between September and the following February. [($50.00) x (5 months/12 months) = $20.83]. In February, the Pack will collect the regular yearly registration fee from all scouts, including those who entered in September. From that point, registration fees will be collected yearly in time for the February re-charter.
Fund Raising
Each year Cub Scouts and their families participate in the annual Trail's End Popcorn Sale fundraiser and Christmas Tree Pick-up. Most of the funding for the Pack comes from these two events.
